A scan needs exactly one thing: your website address. Here's what happens after you hit the button.

Before you scan

Create a free account (a scan costs us real money to run, so it needs a login). If you want the sharpest results, fill in your brand profile first: it grounds everything the system generates for you later. You can also scan first and fill it in after. Both work.

What happens during the scan

The scan usually takes one to two minutes, and it's doing real work the whole time:

  1. Map. We discover your site's public pages and pick up to 10 that matter most: your homepage, about, pricing, product or services pages, and a sample of your content. On the Scale plan, the Full-Site scan reads far more of your site in one pass.
  2. Read. We fetch each page's actual content, the same words a visitor reads.
  3. Gather. We run brand-anchored web searches for the demand and loyalty signals that feed Return (and, on Pro, the off-site evidence that feeds Reach).
  4. Score. Four scoring passes run over that evidence, one per lens, each citing what it found.

While it runs, the page teaches you the vocabulary so the dashboard makes sense the moment it lands.

What you get

Your Brand Echo dashboard: the four-lens quadrant, six scored dimensions per lens, your biggest echo leak (the single costliest place your message breaks down, quoted from a real page), and your next move (the one content action that would raise your score most). How to read all of it.

The practical details

  • Caps: Free accounts get 3 scans a month. Brand Echo Pro raises that to about 50. What each plan gets.
  • If the scan fails, the error tells you why in plain language: some sites block automated readers, some are built entirely in JavaScript our reader can't see into, and sometimes a slow site just needs a second try.
  • Your scan is private by default. You can share any scan as a public read-only page whenever you choose, and make it private again just as easily.
