The bands and the leak
Silent, Faint, Resonant, Amplified, and the one finding on every dashboard that matters more than any number.
Updated 2026-09-13
Numbers need names to mean anything. Every Brand Echo score, on every lens, falls into one of four bands, named for how far your message carries.
The four bands
| Band | Range | What it means | |---|---|---| | Silent | 0 to 25 | The echo dies at the wall. You're publishing into a void. | | Faint | 26 to 50 | It carries a little, but comes back distorted. Mixed messages. | | Resonant | 51 to 75 | It's returning, on-message. The system is working. | | Amplified | 76 to 100 | The market carries your message for you. |
A few honest notes about how these behave in practice:
- Most first scans land in Faint or Resonant. Amplified is rare and should be. If every brand scored 80, the score would mean nothing.
- The bands aren't grades. Faint doesn't mean bad marketing; it means the message loses shape between your pages, or between your site and the market. That's fixable, and the dashboard tells you where.
- Different lenses, different ceilings. Content Quality runs lower than Fidelity for almost everyone, and a proxy Return score is conservative on purpose. Compare your movement over time, not your lenses against each other.
The leak
Every scan names your biggest echo leak: the single costliest place your message breaks down, quoted from a real page. Not a category of problem. A specific sentence, on a specific page, doing specific damage.
The leak exists because a list of 24 findings produces no action. One finding, with the receipt attached and a prescribed next move, produces a fix. Fix it, re-scan, and the leak moves to the next costliest spot. That loop, leak by leak, is how a Faint brand becomes a Resonant one.
Why every score cites its source
Any tool can output a number. The question is whether you can check it. Every dimension note on your dashboard quotes or cites the page or search result it came from, so you can click through and judge the evidence yourself. When you disagree with a read, the citation tells you exactly what we saw. The full honesty rules.
